How often do you whine, complain, pout, explain, defend, debate, attack, judge, threaten, blame, withdraw, shame, and so on? You will always want to get approval or avoid disapproval when you are not being loving to yourself. Today, notice this without judgement, with curiosity and compassion for this controlling, wounded part of you.

Loneliness and heartbreak are two of the hardest feelings to feel. When we were growing up, we had to learn to protect against these, as we could not manage them. Addictions are often ways of avoiding these feelings, so it is vitally important now to learn how to manage them in loving ways.
